Welcome to the Centre for Competition Policy

Centre for Competition Policy

The Centre for Competition Policy at the University of East Anglia was established in 2004, with a grant from the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) to fund a 10-year research programme. The Centre undertakes interdisciplinary research into competition policy, including market regulation, which has real-world policy relevance without compromising academic rigour.

CCP Annual Conference on Private and Public Enforcement

CCP will be hosting its annual conference on 'What Do Public and Private Sanctions in Competition Policy Actually Achieve?' on 14 and 15 June 2012. Numerous questions as to the effect and interplay of public and private sanctions have been raised by the current shake-up of the UK public enforcement framework accompanied by a consultation on private antitrust actions. The European Commission has also attempted to provide guidance for the quantification of harm in private antitrust actions.  It will be held in the Thomas Paine Building on the UEA campus in Norwich. A preliminary programme is now available.
