Chris joined UEA in 2010 from the European University Institute. Chris's doctoral thesis, "The Political Independence of Public Service Broadcasters", won the inaugural François Mény Prize for the Best Comparative Study of European Institutions. His work has been published in Electoral Studies and the British Journal of Political Science. He previously studied Politics, Philosophy & Economics at St. Anne's College, University of Oxford, and has worked for the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-HABITAT) and the OSCE.

Chris is interested in supervising any research involving comparative European politics, and Italian and Scandinavian politics in particular; and any research involving institutional design or party competition.
