Stephen Davies is Professor of Economics in the School of Economics at UEA. His research interests include: the economics of competition policy; cartels and tacit collusion; evaluation of competition policy; mergers; industrial structure. He is a member of the Academic Panel which advises the Office of Fair Trading.  He was formerly the General Editor of The Journal of Industrial Economics. He is currently working on: the interface between tacit and explicit collusion, detection and deterrence in competition policy; competition through non-linear pricing in the electricity market; and coordinated effects mergers.  In his career at UEA he has successfully supervised over 20 PhD students, and is currently supervising 4 more.
