Zita Vasas, PhD Student
Zita is a part-time postgraduate research student at the Norwich Business School of UEA, and a member of the Centre for Competition Policy. She holds an M.Sc. in Competition and Market Regulation from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics in Spain, and an M.Sc. in Economics from the Corvinus University of Budapest in Hungary.
Zita has worked as a Technical Specialist in the competition team of the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority, as an economic consultant at Compass Lexecon's European competition policy group in London, and as an economist at the Hungarian Competition Authority in Budapest.
Zita's research interest is in Industrial Organisation and Competition Policy. Her research focuses on topics around consumer search and switching and include (i) modelling market outcomes in differentiated product markets where consumers have imperfect information, (ii) estimating the impact of search on consumers’ awareness of product complexity and (iii) reviewing current evidence on the effectiveness of nudge interventions in retail financial markets.
Her work is supervised by Péter Ormosi and Amelia Fletcher.
