RP2: The Impact of Devolved Administrations
This Research Package, led by Elizabeth Errington (School of Politics, Philosophy, Language and Communication Studies), explores the development of energy policy, particularly concepts and definitions of fuel poverty, within each of the devolved administrations. This Research Package commenced in October 2016 and will conclude in May 2017.
Core research questions include: Do the Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish devolved administrations have independent fuel poverty discourses? Why do fuel poverty policy formulation processes differ and do these differences result from the differing definitions of fuel poverty within devolved institutions? Why are procedural justice concerns linked to fuel poverty definitions and policy formulation?
This Research Package focuses on the period from 2011 to date. It includes content analysis of committee minutes, official reports and consultation papers, along with semi-structured telephone interviews with policy formulation actors.
